SACSO Vission
“Communities are sustainably managing their natural resources through community
conserved areas and there is coexistence between people, livestock and wildlife and
communities have new economic opportunities.”
SACSO agreed objectives for achieving the vision were as follows:
- To establish Community Conserved Areas (CCA) and joint state/community owned National Parks
- To create a regulatory framework for the management of the conserved areas (CCAs and
NPs, including marine) - To promote sustainable and diversified livelihoods through new economic opportunities
(NR-based, tourism, and Carbon Credit where possible) - To build the capacity of communities to manage their resources sustainably (skills, education
and knowledge - To build community resilience to climate change
